Investment Television is a fast-paced, Canadian weekly newsmagazine show focused on business matters as related to personal financial planning. The show is produced by Millennium Media TV and carried nationally by Global and Prime. Hosts are investment guru, best selling author and television journalist Garth Turner, and co-host Robyn Thompson experienced TV reporter, anchor, producer and business executive.
Investment Television is the longest running show of its type in Canada having surpassed 260 episodes and has a loyal following of more than 500,000 viewers weekly. The program carries a lot of great content for small business owners. If you are not a regular viewer, you should check it out.
In October, one of the producers, Greg Howes, approached SBBS at a small business show to ask what our proposition was all about. He was so intrigued by our business and what we have to offer he asked if we would be interested in doing a segment for the show. We couldn't say yes fast enough!
We spoke with Gregg about storyline and content, and then filmed a segment with one of our people. We also arranged for Gregg to meet and interview one of our customers. The whole process went smoothly. Shortly after Investment Television carried the segment on Small Business Big Savings.
The clip explained our proposition, spoke of the advantage we bring to small business, highlighted some of our vendors showed our interview and the one with our customer.
The segment was well produced, did a super job of explaining the advantages of a SBBS membership and allowed us to tell our story on national TV to half a million viewers.
Immediately following the airing of the segment our web visits peaked and Monday morning we had a barrage of phone calls asking for details on membership and some of our vendor offers. We also got calls from a couple of our vendors who had seen the show.
We certainly enjoyed our segment on Investment Television and thank Gregg and the other people involved for the opportunity.
